We are a National, non-profit, multi-faith charitable organization under the guidance and blessings of our beloved Guruji, Sri Sri Sri Shivabalayogi Maharaj of India. Our mission is to help all humanity around the world in the line of Dhyaan or "meditation" as originally given to Sri Swamiji by Lord Shiva upon his completion of Tapas of 12 years. Through meditation people can help their lives by improving stress levels, sickness, worries, etc. and to have the individual have a closer connection to the Almighty consciousness in the Universe through Sri Swamiji's unconditional love and guidance. All our programs are absolutely free and are held every Friday in the GTA.

These 5 simple words describe Sri Sri Sri Shivabalayogi’s mission in detail.

Dhyaan

This is a powerful type of yogic meditation that is practiced in complete inner and outer silence. It is a very old technique of meditation on the formless self. The meditation concentrates on the Ajna chakra or “Third eye”. Sri Shivabalayogi is known in India as the greatest modern-day practitioner of the art of meditation, which has caused other gurus to send devotees to him for specialized training. The core discipline of his sadhana, or spiritual practice, is for devotees to practice dhyaan for at least one hour at the same time each day. Early morning is often recommended for this. Sri Shivabalayogi points out that dhyaan is not a religion in the sense of being a sectarian body of belief. But it serves to strengthen and enhance whatever spiritual path a person may be on. Learn more about the practice of dhyaan and the purpose of dhyaan.

Vibhuti

This is sacred ash made with sacred ingredients. As initiation into dhyaan takes place, the vibhuti is the main connection between Sri Swamiji and the devotee. Sri Swamiji also uses the vibhuti for healing and blessings to the devotee. The vibhuti should never be placed on the ground, as it loses its power.

Bhajan

After our meditation programs, the latter half is bhajans. Bhajans are simple songs in a soulful language. The songs bring out the best emotions for the love of God from a devotee. The bhajans are sung in a slow, medium-fast, and fast tempo. The energy and power of the bhajans should not be variable. Sri Swamiji says that energy should keep on increasing as the bhajan program grows. Each bhajan should flow one into another. The bhajan program ends with the singing Sri Swamiji’s Arthi. The Toronto Bhajan group is known in the GTA for their powerful bhajans and have been praised for their unique style of bhajans (which is a mix of north and south indian), this is all due to the grace of Sri Swamiji.

Bhava

Bhava is the divine trance. Sri Swamiji uses his yogic powers to fill devotees with the presence and potency of the many aspects of Godhead. Bhava usually occurs during the bhajan programs. In a nutshell, good bhajans lead to good bhava. This is what we have experienced in Toronto. Bhava is used for the cleansing and purification of the individual and for preparation of further spiritual evolution.

Bhandara

Bhandara or ‘Anna Daan’, the gift of food has become part of this mission as well. This follows the ending of the official meditation and bhajan program and is in the form of mass feeding. Food is a very important part of the mission. Sri Swamiji blesses fruits and candy as prasad to give to all those present at the programs. Then there is also the feast that happens after the prasad. Many types of foods are prepared and given out at the programs to fill the devotee’s stomach. Sri Swamiji says that prolonged tapas generates intense heat in a yogi’s body. By the “gift of food” this heat is neutralised, and as a result the yogi experiences great peace and satisfaction.
